Salem Through My Eyes
Salem is a wonderful place – small and beautiful is good! I’ve spent my entire teaching career here, now 33 years on campus. Small classes and majors let you get to know your students very well, and I’m fascinated by the long and interesting history of the place and its lovely old buildings.
Fun Facts
- My family is very important to me: wife Kathleen, also an artist, sons Johnny and Willy, daughter Beatrix — and son-in-law Calvin— and our dog, Plum.
- I love to paint, draw, illustrate books and graphic novels and have received numerous prizes for my books from a number of small publisher competitions.
- I’m from New England and New York State originally but love living in North Carolina, where I drink a lot of tea and enjoy old movies, old books and old paintings.
