In addition to his public health credentials, he also holds a master’s degree in biology and doctoral degrees in higher education leadership and health science. His experience and training will both strengthen the good work already going on where the social sciences and sciences meet, and help build out health leadership programs, including an emerging program in public health.

He has created numerous articulation and partnership agreements, with a particular focus on working with Historically Black College and Universities. Sanders has received a Master of Business Administration degree and doctoral degrees in osteopathy and health administration. His work will bridge many disciplines at Salem College, and he will also provide principal leadership in the roll-out of Salem’s master’s degree in health administration program, recently approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

There, he led a university-wide initiative to redesign and roll out a program in the responsible conduct of research. Simon holds a doctoral degree in medical anthropology and has post-doctoral training in applied bioethics. His work will bolster Salem’s focus on ethics and strengthen health leadership work based in the humanities.
